Bricks 2.0: What’s New and Should You Update?

Bricks 2.0 is a major builder update affecting the design system and the frontend. Here is what actually matters for production.

Style Manager and dark mode

A full-featured style manager with light/dark/auto modes is now available. Dark mode is built on the data-brx-theme attribute and variables switch automatically, so you no longer duplicate styles and can keep a single palette.

Performance

CSS generation is improved: global classes and variables are compiled more efficiently, with fewer inline styles in the markup.

Should you update

Yes, if you are ready to test the site on staging. Breaking changes are minimal, and the design-system maintenance win is significant.
